As the weather gets warmer I am less and less inclined to cook. Nothing sounds good. I don’t want to turn on the oven. I don’t want to stand over the stove. The logical solution is to shift at least some of the cooking responsibilities off to DH and the trusty grill. The problem is that we haven’t used the grill in literally two years. The past two summers we were trying to sell the house and the grill was shoved in the garage because it was too “unsightly” for the front porch.
Now that we have moved, guess where the grill is. Right. In the garage. We don’t really have a place to put it at the new house. The front porch is too small and there is no back porch or patio. DH has talked about making a patio in the back but I don’t know where that falls on the honey-do list. Probably somewhere above scraping and painting the trim around the windows and below turning the patch of knee-high grass behind the garage into additional parking.
Maybe if I post at least a couple of things that I plan on making each week it will motivate me to do it. Let’s give it a try. Since we’re halfway through the week already I’ll start small. I have an idea for a ham and scalloped sweet potato bake that I could probably do in the crock pot. I’m aiming for Friday since I’m not sure DH will be home for dinner tomorrow. I’ll post results over the weekend. I may also tell DH that his memorial day weekend project is to make a place for the grill.
If you made it all the way through this terribly boring post go over to Laughing Daisies for another take on the banana cookie idea. Scroll down to the bottom of the post for the recipe.
