Jeni asked for the recipe for the Banana Chocolate Chip cookies so here you go. Great with a cup of hot chocolate. The raw dough is also very yummy but it won’t keep too long in the refrigerator. It’s a very slightly modified version of a bar cookie recipe from an old version of the Better Homes and Garden’s cookbook.
Banana Chocolate Chip Cookies
3/4 c. margarine or butter (softened)
2/3 c. white sugar
2/3 c. brown sugar
2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
2 tsp. vanilla
2-3 bananas, really ripe, mashed
2 c. + 2 Tbs. flour
1 c. chocolate chips (or more if you like)
Cream the butter and sugars. Add the baking powder, salt, and vanilla and mix. Then blend in the egg and banana. Then blend in the flour. Stir in the chocolate chips. Drop by rounded teaspoons onto cookie sheet and bake for around 12 minutes at 350 degrees.
The original also had walnuts in it but ChaosGirl doesn’t do nuts in cookies so I didn’t use them.
