In case you all hadn’t noticed I’ve not posted here in a while. There still isn’t anything really fun and interesting to post about. For those of you keeping score:
Dad
Hospice brought out a hospital bed last week as he is now too weak to move around much even with the walker. Yesterday he got a [...]
A brief update

The short version is Dad has pancreatic cancer with a secondary gall bladder infection that he’s been fighting for almost two weeks now. They have moved him from Hometown Hospital to City Hospital with Cancer Center literally minutes from me so that is good for me but bad for Mom and Sis who are [...]

Valentine’s Day isn’t high on my list of favorite holidays. Yeah, I like chocolate but I don’t need a martyred Roman priest around to eat it. Fortunately the Imbolc issue of the AntiCraft came to my rescue. Yup, per the StitchStirrers challenge, I crocheted my valentine.
Behold! A beholder:
Pattern: Shoulder Beholder
Yarn: Vanna’s Choice [...]
And I thought things would get better.

Silly me.
The good news is exams are written. 3,350 words in about 3 hours. Oral defense TBA sometime in late March.
The bad news is Tuesday night it rained. Then it rained some more. We know there is a spot under the stairs in the basement that gets a bit damp. The someone-threw-a-10-gallon-bucket-of-water-on-the-floor sort of damp. [...]

According to research published a few years ago it improves blood vessel function and now there are some results showing that it also lowers blood pressure too. DH told me he heard something on NPR about it adding years to your life but I can’t find anything on the NPR website. Oh, well. I’m having [...]

I tried on the sweater and the fronts worked even though the right side was a bit narrower. (Yay!)
I then started to sew in the sleeves. They were HUGE. I ended up ripping the one I had sewn in back up to the underarm and I’ll have to re-make both sleeves about 2″ narrower. [...]
Sad yarny update

It’s still waaay too hot here but I have forced myself to finish the second sleeve of the green Purple Haze sweater. I blocked it and discovered that the two front sides don’t match. The right side is too narrow. I have no idea how I didn’t catch this before.
I almost cried.
I *think* I [...]

I won’t be around for a bit – probably through the 4th of July holiday. Nothing fun unfortunately. I’m getting 3 impacted wisdom teeth surgically removed tomorrow morning. My plans after than consist of lying around in a vicoden-induced stupor for a couple of days and then maybe some ice cream and a bit of [...]
