In a fit of spring cleaning fever I finished not one but TWO projects yesterday. And I ain’t talking dishcloths or 1-hour hats either.
This afghan was one of my Fire Element projects for Project Spectrum 3.

Yarn: One strand of Lion Brand Jiffy (Pueblo – discontinued color) and one strand Caron Simply Soft (Autumn Red) held together with an N hook.
Pattern: Checkerboard Squares afghan by Melissa Leapman from an out-of-print Leisure Arts booklet called Classics with a “Q”
I started this in January and just kept going until I ran out of yarn. It ate up around 1,300 yards of stash (Jiffy) – Hooray!
Also, SOCKS!

I finished these socks for DH last night. They fit and they’re done and they used up stash so that’s good. The cable on the side is mostly obscured by the patterning in the yarn so that’s bad but I can live with it. It kept me from falling asleep while knitting on them.
Yarn: Regia Spirit Color 4-ply
Pattern: Vaguely resembles the Earl Grey socks by Yarn Harlot
What’s scary now is I have one UFO remaining for the Fire Element of PS3, 1 for the Earth Element, 2 designated for the Air Element, and 1 for the Water Element; one UFO that will wait for next fall (it’s for ChaosGirl and I have to wait and see what size she is then) and that’s basically it. I ripped out another attempt at socks with that blue Regia and it’s back in the stash.
I might almost be making something that looks sorta like progress here.
If only I could say the same thing about the dissertation. . . .
