Krispy Kreme. Warm. With coffee. It helps a lot.
In order to not be a downer all the time I do have some yarny stuff to show you.
Since my mom is a Luddite I can show you the first two bits of her birthday present. The towel is knit and the dishcloth is crochet
It’s sort of odd. My birthday, my mom’s birthday, and ChaosGirl’s birthday are all in February. Odd, but works well for buying amethyst jewelry.
I also finished my crocheted fingerless mitts

and a pair for ChaosGirl. Totally easy once I figured out the changes I need to make to account for the difference between the fingering weight yarn called for in the pattern and the worsted weight I used. I may make another set in fingering as these are a bit bulky for computer use – which is why I made them in the first place.

She likes to wear them when she is playing “I’m a Kitty” or “Follow the Cat” because they “protect her paws.”
And I’ve made some progress on one of my two Project Spectrum Elements: Fire projects

This is the Checkerboard Squares afghan by Melissa Leapman from an out-of-print Leisure Arts booklet called Classics with a “Q” As anything worked with two strands held together and a large hook, it goes really fast when I finally sit down and work on it.
