This has been a long weekend in more ways than the Labor Day holiday. ChaosGirl had a busy social schedule including two play dates (one Saturday and one today) as well as a trip to Grandma and Papaw’s for an overnight stay Saturday night and bratwursts and cotton candy at Oktoberfest on Sunday evening. Yes, she really ate bratwurst followed by very blue cotton candy. I’m amazed she wasn’t sick. She also rode the merry-go-round, the kiddie race cars, the spinning tea cups, and the flying ladybugs.
The nice thing about the second playdate – which is where she is right now – is that it means DH and I have the chance to have a real grown up dinner with an adult beverage. Yay for strawberry margaritas!
I have been slightly productive -
this is a little raglan sweater for ChaosGirl. (Stitch markers by The Illustrious Ms E)
I was at Hobby Lobby and they had Mosaic Twist for 99 cents a skein so for $6 I get a sweater. It’s working up fast since it’s bulky on 10 1/2 needles. I’m using a basic fill-in-the-blank calculation method instead of a regular pattern and it’s working pretty well. I tried it on her this afternoon and I think I only have about 2-3 more rows before it’s time to split the arms off. When I asked her if she liked it she said no, that she only liked the pink. *sigh*
I’m in a crochet-a-long on Ravelry for socks that started this weekend. If you’re interested and in Ravelry you can still join. I think it might also be mirrored over in Crochetville but I’m not sure. I have a pattern and yarn but I need to sit down and start them. I did finish the Jelly Bean socks Saturday morning. Unfortunately I ran out of yarn and couldn’t do the fancy cuffs. I’m not sure I mind too much since I’m rather fond of the scalloped edge I get from the shells.
